From humble beginnings
Dapper was born the only daughter to a fishing family in a small Ala Mhigan hamlet. Growing up, she learned to fish in the sparse rivers and caught her first fish at the age of four. It was a simple life, but a happy one.
When Ala Mhigo fell to Garlemald, Dapper was only eight years old. For a few more years, Dapper and her family lived in peace. Five years later at the age of thirteen, the Garlean Empire was calling for more soldiers, asking for one member of each household to serve. As her parents were in failing health, Dapper stepped forward in their stead and became a worker on Garlean ships, having been deemed too young to fight.
Dapper would work under Garlean rule for two years, until the fateful day where the ship she was working on was attacked by Lominsan pirates. Not trained to fight, but to cook and clean the ship like a servant, Dapper was spared the fate of the rest of the ship and was taken aboard the Lady Infernal, ship of the Sanguine Sirens. Now fifteen, Dapper learned not only to fight, but of community and family, and soon found her home with the Sirens as one of their own.
Dapper stayed with the Sirens for about sixteen years, watching firsthand as the pirate crew became renowned as one of Limsa's great pirate powers. Dapper retired of the pirate's life only after sustaining grave injuries in battle against a Garlean ship, resulting in the loss of her right eye and deep side wounds that refused to heal correctly. Finding that she couldn't stay away from the sea after so many years, she took up fishing once more and began traveling to both improve her health and find more exciting fish to catch.
A chance encounter
Thrill Seeker- Retiring from the Sirens hasn't slowed Dapper down by much, and she can often be found looking for new ways to spend her time. Enjoying listening to people talk about their interests, Dapper will lend an ear to anything new or fun that's caught your eye. She may even try it with you!
Deadliest Catcher- Dapper travels around in search of new and exotic fish to try to catch, simply for the challenge. Its not uncommon to find her at some river or beach, fishing pole in hand and a determined grin upon her face.
Ala Mhigan at heart- Though she's not tried to return to her homeland since her childhood days, Dapper still holds her homeland and those hailing from there in high regard. She doesn't want to return though, mostly out of fear of what she will find in place of her tiny village.
Injured in the body, but not in pride- Dapper doesn't say much about her injuries and how she got them. The story is one she keeps to herself, but instead of a sad story about losing her sight, Dapper will gladly tell more tales about her time as a Sanguine Siren. Taking pride in the life she's lived, her stories are told with a grin and a sigh, almost as if she misses those days.
